The Brief

VisionZero is DS Smith's ambition for zero harm to come to their people at work.

All their sites are unique, with bespoke challenges, risks and HSE cultures. DS Smith wanted to show a diverse range of divisions, people and implementations of VisionZero through a series of inspirational videos.

They approached us with this video production brief, presenting us with the challenge of filming four videos in three different countries. As well as the Kettering site in the UK, we also needed to go filming at a site in Portugal, and two sites in Romania.

The Story We Told

Each video in this project is a case study for the variety of different ways VisionZero can be implemented well across different sites and locations through the pillars of the VisionZero philosophy:

  • Leadership
  • Culture
  • Engagement
  • Working environment / Processes

When visiting the sites, we spent time on a RECCE each morning, to understand the visual impact that VisionZero had on site operations. By co-ordinating in advance with DS Smith and local site reps, we knew what Health & Safety measures we were looking to include, but not exactly how to film sequences around these measures. By spending time on-site understanding operations, we were able to produce sequences which flowed nicely, and lead us on a journey through the story of VisionZero.
