DS Smith
DS Smith needed a way to introduce the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) to the whole business - a new regulation, requiring that products produced or traded in the EU can be proven not to have caused deforestation or forest degradation.
It's a dense, technical topic, but one that depends on everyone understanding their part in it. DS Smith wanted a 90-second animation that could "translate" EUDR into something clear and engaging, to kick off the Awareness phase of their rollout.
Deliverables:
The animation opens in the forest, using it as the visual backdrop to frame the conversation around deforestation and why the regulation exists.
From there, box and cardboard motifs carry the story into DS Smith's world, connecting the raw material straight through to packaging production. The film closes by introducing human characters, shifting the focus from regulation to responsibility - making clear that EUDR compliance isn't an abstract policy, but something that sits with DS Smith's own people.
The end result is very professional, on brand and has played a significant part in the success of our marketing campaign.
