The Brief

The Riverfront Theatre in Newport came to us for the third year running to help promote their Christmas panto.

Their video production requirements totalled 16 videos, covering two languages and two different aspect ratios.

The Story We Told

We produced a main promo for the panto featuring the characters on a green screen, introducing themselves to the audience. These intros were then re-sized and cut down into individual vertical videos, to be displayed on the vertical screens in the theatre lobby. We also shot spoken pieces-to-camera with various characters to be released on special occasions throughout the panto's run, such as Christmas, New Year, National Panto day etc. These videos were shot twice, to meet bilingual requirements.

Later on as the opening night neared, we shot a full dress rehearsal and produced a one-minute trailer, featuring a call-to-action and ticket information.

The logistics of shooting are always complex on Panto Press Day, juggling photography and video production requirements, and a lot of videos to get shot in one day. We love the organisation of projects like these, and never shy away from a challenge!
